  • Academic Impressions, in partnership with The University of Alabama, provides all faculty, staff and students at The University of Alabama with membership access to a host of training resources. Topic areas range from skills-based trainings for professionals in all areas of higher ed to leadership trainings on topics such as supervision, personal effectiveness and diversity, equity and inclusion, and more.
  • The Capstone Center for Student Success provides tutoring, advising, academic coaching, specialized support programs, international partnerships and other services to support holistic student success.   • The Capstone International Center — comprised of Education Abroad, the English Language Institute, and International Student and Scholar Services — coordinates the University’s international endeavors, facilitates the development of a global perspective campus-wide, and supports students, faculty and staff in learning, teaching, research, service and global outreach.   • The Center for Instructional Technology, or CIT, offers information, tutorials, workshops and other support for teaching technologies including Blackboard, Class Collaborate, Flip, Hypothesis, Panopto, Simple Syllabus, Turnitin, Zoom and others.   • Collegiate Recovery and Intervention Services (CRIS) supports students with substance use concerns, providing a range of services to help with recovery from addiction.
  • The Counseling Center helps UA students, undergraduate and graduate, achieve academic success and personal growth through a comprehensive counseling center model focused on providing quality counseling and psychological services, outreach, consultative services and the training of mental health professionals. In addition to the counseling services, counseling resources and innovative programs offered to students, the Counseling Center offers information on how faculty, staff, parents and others can support their students, specific information on helping students in crisis and further information on self-help.   • The Department of Human Resources offers faculty and staff information about benefits, wellness and work-life, employee training, staff recruitment, payroll, medical and parental leave and other work-related resources.
  • The Graduate School provides information, forms and resources for graduate students and faculty. Contact the Graduate School.
  • The Office of Disability Services, or ODS, partners with faculty and staff to provide academic accommodations and promote an inclusive education for all UA members. Contact ODS.
  • The Office of Educational Technology, or eTech, provides technology services and support to faculty and staff in the College of Arts and Sciences, including computer lab and multimedia room reservations, digital signage, office computer equipment, photography, swipe-card access and web development.
  • The Office of Information Technology, or OIT, offers technical support for information technology, including campus Wi-Fi, audiovisual support, email, hosting services, reporting tools, research computing and software downloads such as Office 365, Adobe Creative Cloud and Box cloud services.   • The Office of Student Care and Well-Being provides assistance and case management for students in crisis, as well as outreach to parents and families. The staff coordinate a range of services to assist students with issues and concerns that may interfere with their academic success, including food assistance, financial assistance and technology assistance. Teachers concerned about a student’s welfare, behavior or safety can submit a report of concern. Emergency situations, or situations where there is an imminent risk of harm to anyone, should be immediately reported to The University of Alabama Police Department (UAPD) by calling 911 or 8-5454 from any UA phone or 205-348-5454 from a non-UA phone.
  • The Office of Teaching Innovation and Digital Education, or OTIDE, provides technical assistance, applied research and flexible and innovative educational programs, including UA Online, Continuing Education and Lifelong Learning (CELL), ACCESS Virtual Learning, UA Early College, New College LifeTrack, and the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI). They also support teaching innovation and faculty development, including Quality Matters certification, as well as other professional development opportunities.
  • The Office of Veteran and Military Affairs serves all student veterans, service members, dependents and survivors regardless of whether the student receives federal or state benefits, as well as faculty and staff. Contact the Office of Veteran and Military Affairs.
  • The Office of Wellness and Work-Life provides resources, programs and information for faculty and staff, including wellness and fitness programs, mental and financial health services, a monthly newsletter and benefit information.
  • The Psychology Clinic is a mental health center and training clinic for doctoral-level psychology trainees. The clinic provides confidential and individualized psychological services to people of all ages from UA, Tuscaloosa and the surrounding communities.
  • The Student Health Center provides comprehensive health care, pharmacy services and outreach prevention services to students. Contact the Student Health Center.
  • The Teaching Hub, an initiative of the College of Arts and Sciences, provides resources, ideas and solutions for innovative and effective teaching. Faculty contributions to the Teaching Hub’s blog cover topics such as syllabus planning, active learning, inclusive teaching, assessment, accessibility, artificial intelligence and digital/online teaching tools and techniques. Programs include the Active Learning Initiative, the Distinguished Teaching Fellowship and the Prison Teaching Fellowship.
  • UAct is a site where employees, students and campus visitors can report harassment, sexual misconduct, hazing, abuse, threatening or alarming behavior, or other incidents. The site also offers information about protections, policies and intervention training.   • UA LMS is Human Resources’ hub for instructor-led training, as well as providing access to over 9,000 LinkedIn Learning resources.
  • University Libraries provide on-site and online research and learning materials, databases, research guides and research support. UA Libraries also provides computers, software and equipment, as well as spaces for group and individual study.
  • The Women and Gender Resource Center provides free, confidential and voluntary counseling and advocacy services to members of The University of Alabama community and beyond who are victims/survivors of interpersonal violence. In addition to counseling, support groups and advocacy, the center offers a variety of programming designed to promote social justice and address gender disparities in academia, government and the workforce.   • The Writing Center is a free service open to all UA students. Its tutors offer feedback on all types of writing at all stages of the writing process. Writing tutors are available for in-person and online consultations, as well as promotional visits and workshops. Their writing resources page provides many helpful links.
